This lunar cycle is about the why’s and what gives meaning to life. It reveals things. What gives hope, what can we share and how we deal with understanding our sensitivities and commitments. It may get us thinking or engaging in intense discussions, about unusual subjects or surface the need to tell truths, think and act outside the box, express and share opinions about justice, skills, and solve problems. Free up some space for promoting exchange or reflection. Assist and facilitate. It brings revelations, parting of ways or joining others with a sense of devotion and dedication that is experimental or unusual, encourages the sharing of truths and beliefs, and expands connections or visions from the past. It may make us ponder on how information and knowledge is disseminated in the collective or within groups. The energy of this period promotes both personal and collective understanding, making it an ideal time to reflect on important issues and why it is important to communicate and interact with others. We can engage in discussions, and reconsider long-held perspectives, beliefs and visions. Some may experience emotional or spiritual awakenings, or even reflect on the conditions of groups, communities, networks and friends, while others may find clarity in past experiences, or accept endings and say farewells.
The New Moon forms a waning trine with Jupiter in Gemini, which is about to station direct on February 5th at 12 degrees Gemini. This is significant because it relates to past situations and suggests that even seemingly unfavorable events may carry benefits. Legal or judicial matters and agreements may seek closure. Trine aspects indicate a flow of energy, particularly in the Air signs, which supports social interactions, intellectual growth, and the exchange of ideas and contacts. Mostly it can magnify information or the need to learn, improve or inquire into the overall state of things. During this time, people may feel more inclined to question possibilities, seek mental stimulation, and explore unusual subjects or help in various ways. There is an emphasis on identifying empowering versus disempowering beliefs and use of knowledge. (Mercury conjunct Pluto)
My impression is this lunar cycle requires some serious contemplation, particularly regarding perspectives or plans and question whether they enslave and waste energy or liberate. Communication, negotiations, and travel may also present challenges or shifts, pushing matters in a different direction. Rather than immediate results, this cycle suggests a process of endings and new beginnings, with changes taking longer to fully manifest. The trine to Jupiter reinforces the idea that circumstances can easily move in either a positive or negative direction depending on context.
The influence of Air and Water placements during this cycle means that intellect and emotions will be deeply intertwined. This could lead to creative inspiration for some, while others may struggle with internal conflicts between logic and feelings. The need to ground ourselves or to become creative in changing a course of action, even turn to simple solutions while we seek to transform or shape something will be evident around the culmination of the cycle on February 12th. With Uranus stationing direct in the beginning of this cycle, matters that had stalled since late August may now begin to move forward. Reforms and restlessness are present, as well as unexpected events awakenings and a general need to do things differently. Despite the focus on the trine aspect to Jupiter in Gemini, the ruler of this New Moon is Saturn in Pisces, which signifies structure, discipline, and responsibility, a quiet moment to reflect on what enthuses us or gives meaning to life, or become more organised on the array of possibilities or even allow time to develop trust in the flow of life. While trines and sextiles create ease, they do not necessarily bring major change. However, the stationing planets Jupiter and Uranus, do press for change, and reveal things, and by the Full Moon on February 12th, a major aspect pattern with Uranus at 23-25 degrees of fixed signs could bring a shift and manifest the necessary tension to be creative or be awakened in some way which will bring this current lunar cycle to a close in the two weeks after that. So, we can expect that the waning part of this cycle will signify and present more change or unrest in the collective sphere and our lives. Relationships and plans can begin or change course, in unexpected ways.
On a collective level, the culmination of this cycle may bring chaotic conditions, and disruptions in parts of the world, provoke discussions about ethics, justice, controversy, and the need for reforms. As new developments and information emerge, individuals may feel compelled to shift perspectives, experience creative breakthroughs, break free from restrictions and stale relationships, or reconnect in different ways, move forward with long-awaited existing plans. Since Uranus often brings unpredictability, follow up and stabilising requires resistance, and reforms, something maybe deprived or removed, or something may cause us to do things differently, but this disruption might also serve as a catalyst for necessary change and freeing up some creativity on an individual level and in connection to others. Private life and goals need to be dealt with differently, in order to give value to how we are sharing or shaping something. Some may experience fortunate delays, while others may need to revisit commitments that seek closure, since late August and the end of last September, especially with Mars retrograding in a second trine to Saturn. This process will not conclude until the beginning of April. There is something that stirs the need to act differently, or change patterns of assertiveness and rejection. Heal this conflict between desire, and commitment that is coupled with guilt or hypersensitivity and freedom, which sometimes can be self-destructive. (Mars square Chiron). Acting with humility is Mars in Cancer as feelings around vulnerabilities surface. How to deal with autonomy and commitments, is there an alternate way of doing this in our relationships, investing of energy and contracts with others? The relationship to the physical self is important, as well as handling affairs, passions and desires in an intuitive and creative way. Domestic affairs maybe highlighted and need more organisation.
Overall, this cycle encourages personal and collective growth through communication, intellectual engagement, and emotional clarity. Opportunities will arise to form meaningful connections and explore new subjects that bring hope, inspiration or seek meaning that is more humble or related to an inner need to defend our vital space and emotional self. The energy of this period supports freeing oneself from limiting perspectives of ephemeral popularity and social engagement, making time to connect with people and situations that give meaning, defending those we feel that need it, embracing and sharing experiences in innovative ways, changing habits, and engaging with life in a more liberated way while accepting vulnerabilities. Visualising and reflecting on ideals in connecting with others, or significant others join our path, will become increasingly significant as Neptune, Saturn and the North Node of the Moon, are gradually approaching their conjunction towards March. This is positive for non profit work or service, creative joint efforts, divine inspiration, releasing and surrendering unhealthy situations or organisations, spiritual and soul unions, finding our teacher and mentor, crystallising a dream or vision, clarifying expectations, realise the importance and seriousness of being realistic and setting boundaries in how we provide for others or being of service, and releasing what does not serve anymore. This period until mid April, presents us with very significant personal and collective awakenings.
