This lunar cycle is about the why’s and what gives meaning to life. It reveals things. What gives hope, what can we share and how we deal with understanding our sensitivities and commitments. It may get us thinking or engaging in intense discussions, about unusual subjects or surface the need to tell truths, think and act outside the box, express and share opinions about justice, skills, and solve problems. Free up some space for promoting exchange or reflection. Assist and facilitate. It brings revelations, parting of ways or joining others with a sense of devotion and dedication that is experimental or unusual, encourages the sharing of truths and beliefs, and expands connections or visions from the past. It may make us ponder on how information and knowledge is disseminated in the collective or within groups. The energy of this period promotes both personal and collective understanding, making it an ideal time to reflect on important issues and why it is important to communicate and interact with others. We can engage in discussions, and reconsider long-held perspectives, beliefs and visions. Some may experience emotional or spiritual awakenings, or even reflect on the conditions of groups, communities, networks and friends, while others may find clarity in past experiences, or accept endings and say farewells.
Planets in apparent Rx motion are close to earth. So, everything they signify is closer to us, thus subjective. They are great for subjective matters and very personal projects, not objective matters. The phenomenon is part of a cycle in relation to the Sun. It is like a leap in time between past and future. Look to the matters that are ruled by the planet beeing retrograde in your chart, there is potentially a theme there, or a thread. Retracing steps is revealing something to you. In reference to Mars retrograde look to the houses that have Aries and Scorpio on the cusp, and the house that transit Mars is Retrograde in Leo and Cancer, for relevant themes. The Sun Mars cycle started in November of 2023 at 25 Scorpio. It will reach its opposition in mid January 2025. Go back to that time, and think of it as a seed moment of investing your energy, which at this current time you need to review and become more aware of, in relation to your goals. Check to see if the 25 Scorpio degree is conjuct a significant planet or point in your chart. This degree is also opposed by Uranus in Taurus at the moment. There is something we need to change, or make reforms to, as part of this two year cycle, that can be creative and innovative. It may be experienced as disruptive or a destabilising energy from external factors, yet in every chart there are different configurations and interpretations differ. The areas activated or the roots of matters lie in your Sun, Mars and Uranus natal placements primarily. These two are very personal points, and connect to a transpersonal point to do with individuation, reform and creativity in connection to collective contribution or engagement. How we approach autonomy and promoting goals and projects is undergoing a major reform and awakening, and perhaps creative breakthroughs in the process. Scorpio is a sign of shaping and shifting something, transforming it, eliminating, and truth seeking. As the Earth partially casts a shadow on the Moon reaching its culmination point by blocking some of the Sun’s light, we may see terrestrial events on Earth ‘blocking’ a leader from ‘meeting’ in full view with the people. We may see certain choices, intentions, and decisions being slightly shadowed by certain events. Terrestrial events are casting a ‘shadow’ on people (the public), populations, especially women, smooth continuity of daily life, habits, and routines, and the natural expected course of living beings. A disruption in the natural course of our life plan is indicated by all eclipses. These are various potential manifestations. Lunar eclipses are indicating important completions or emotional events, with a kind of momentum or something that may be more intense than usual. We may have revelations of important information or about people’s characteristics. They do not need to be dramatic necessarily; we may voluntarily decide to ‘eclipse’ something or some situation from our lives. And all full moons are indicating something about relationships. Thus Lunar Eclipses contain an element of disruption or need for change that may have more of a long-term effect or consequence, like the closure of a chapter of life or endeavour, that has already started and may take some time to complete. Sometimes they can be intense, or they can cause uncertainty, or they could be of a corrective, releasing, liberating, revealing or cathartic nature, as some new information or event manifests.
In this particular Lunar Eclipse at 25-26 degrees Pisces (Saros 118) ruled by Jupiter in Gemini, there is a need to complete or clarify situations, and information or knowledge, and situations that remain pending. The emphasis on closure is emphasized by the late degrees, the sign of Pisces, and may refer to legal matters, legal procedures, legal agreements, higher knowledge, educational endeavors, religious matters, foreign trade, travel, and movement, publicity and publications, gaining more understanding about subjects of interest, ethical issues, and generally anything that falls in the area of significations of Jupiter, and also perhaps hidden things, or matters to do with areas of knowledge we can’t quite grasp or they are abstract. Jupiter is in Gemini, and the ruler of Gemini, Mercury is in Virgo applying to an opposition to Saturn in Pisces. This opposition has either a limiting or controling effect on procedures in general, or a need to manage problems or organise information, applying skills in effective ways with another.
The Moon’s last aspect before it joins Neptune and leaves the sign of Pisces is a sextile to Pluto at 29 degrees Capricorn 46’ (Rx), and it points to some kind of return to groups, joint finances, or other’s resources that are pending from the past. It points to using information and intuition to improve or heal matters, a need to delve deeper into research of specialized areas, and generally to eliminate or engage with complexities in a positive manner.
We live in interesting times, to say the least. If there is one positive thing to take away from the symbolism of Mars conjunct Uranus on the Fixed star Algol (besides all the gloom and doom of its malefic influence), as the conjunction is applying and perfecting on July 15th, (there is also the parallel aspect to consider on July 18th), is that we collectively or personally release or liberate ourselves from violence, battles, disputes and aggression. The 2 year cycle of the planets is in its balsamic phase, seeking a new vision about what we need to defend and protect, through valuing or around values. The conjunction in Taurus, has a dispositor, Venus. Venus is in the sign of Leo, and is separating from an opposition to Pluto. An awareness , a crisis, or a conflict that has reached it’s maximum, and proceeds with a release or liberation. Pluto is an agent of elimination and renewal. Mars and Uranus in Taurus can be seen as a need for release from things, and/or approach chaotic or unstable situations with calmness (Taurus), and a heroic or authentic attitude pertaining to our values or mending things (Venus/Leo). The theme of ‘endings’ is present, in any cycle approaching its conjunction. As Algol is associated with the head of Medusa, the ‘decapitation’ is also perhaps of the fear to think of things in a different way, or the ending of a cycle and the overcoming of past trauma, or wounding to do with leadership, choices and self will (Venus in Leo, Sun in Cancer square Chiron in Aries). And yes, we may witness sudden and unpredictable acts or violence in the world, major shake ups, but we may also witness initiatives and actions that turn situations around in ways that unblock, aid, correct or end past injustices or conflicts. The range of manifestations is rather extreme and wide, from destructive to incredibly passionate and creative, and this depends solely on the predisposition and mental state of the individuals. Where the mind is focused or fixated on, does make all the difference.

Time for reviewing and reflecting on expectations, visions, ideals or mis-takes of the past. Collectively we are on the verge or a need to make a new beginning in connection to our ideals, the notion of the common good and the perspective of service, survival and autonomy. Neptune will ingress into Aries next spring, and will be going back and forth on the threshold of the Equinox point for a few months, until it meets Saturn in 2026. A kind of state in limbo or preparative stage, like a sea diver after a long sea exploration dive, takes their diving suit off and hops into their very own athletic attire or their tarzan outfit.
Neptune passed the same degree that now Saturn stations, on April 5-6, 2020, September 16, 2020, and Feb. 6, 2021 – If you have planets or significant points on your natal chart, on this degree, then these dates may mean something significant for you.
These dates obviously mean something really significant collectively, as April 2020, we were in the beginning of the covid pandemic lock down period (the Jupiter-Pluto cycle in Capricorn started.)
What is the most important binding thing for us all in our common future, what is a collective memory that we can share? Saturn, as it stations Rx, indicates a kind of ‘pause’ or need to reflect, that is subjective (apparent motion), and it is somehow bridging a time gap between past and future. When slow planets go over the same degree, there is a noticeable kind of ‘echo’ effect, or a moment to check up on something. What Neptune started, Saturn needs to control, structure, make clear or solidify. The other scenario, is that it may give some understanding in retrospect, about matters that prevailed on those dates.
One of the most intriguing mysteries is the disappearance of pioneering pilot Amelia Earhart. There are reports suggesting that wreckage of her plane may have been found. She disappeared on July 2, 1937. A deep-sea drone conducted searches between September and December 2023. The Lunar Eclipse of last October falls on her Ascendant degree, 04 Taurus. Her mysterious disappearance is indicated by her natal Venus-Neptune conjunction, and with Pisces on the cusp of the 12th house, the oceanic environment is emphasized. The Solar Eclipse that occurred a month before her disappearance (see chart below) is on her natal Venus-Neptune conjunction. The 12th house is ruled by Jupiter and co-rulerd by Neptune. Transit Jupiter is approaching Uranus in her 1st house, this coming April. Aircrafts are ruled by Uranus. We also see her progressed Sun in a sextile with progressed Jupiter, is truth coming to light about her disappearance? The period the recent research was conducted, transit Mercury was retrograde in Sagittarius, in the 8th and 9th house of her natal chart. Let’s wait for the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in late April, we may have the revelation. The story of this brave woman is very intriguing, and we also see how an astrological chart highlights events for research even after death. (Astrology is a very useful tool).
When a slow outer planet changes signs it is a big moment. Pluto the agent of transformation, is changing signs from Capricorn to Aquarius where it will stay for 20 years. The transition from Cardinal Earth to Fixed Air, means that something is surfacing and rising, or maybe changing from something tangible to something intangible. Earth gives form to things, while Air disseminates information and ideas. As this is a slow planet, it will take one and a half year to make its full entry into Aquarius. Pluto is still a subject for astrological reasearch. So, it may be more helpful to appreciate its effects in this sign, slowly in our lives and collective experience, observe, ask questions and take notes:
With Pluto in Aquarius, the Moon in cardinal signs is finally free since 2008. This besides other interpretations could mean on a collective level that the vox populi (public opinion) will be liberated, more impulsive, and adventurous, and certainly harder to control, manipulated or coersed. It maybe easier to initiate, yet things will be tested for their follow up and consistency.
Do you find that the period that Pluto ingressed in Aquarius last Spring liberated your intuitive mind, the way you reflect on things, your responses, your natural self, habits, and needs? You may feel less ‘blocked’ about the area the Moon is placed and rules in your natal chart. There is still a bit more Pluto in Capricorn from Sept. to November 2024, yet we may have already noticed some fresh changes on the above, that we will practice more as this long transit of Pluto fully engages with the territory Aquarius. I have certainly started to change some unhealthy habits and I have become more aware of them. It maybe helpful to also look at your natal Pluto and Uranus placements, as well as the house that Pluto transits in your chart.
It would be interesting to see if Pluto in Aquarius will see the radical change of the way astrology is viewed as a therapeutic tool. We may see a strengthening of the practice of astrology and psychology joining forces. I mean therapy or healing through astrology, which isn’t at all something new for astrologers, but maybe it will evolve, and psychologists would acknowledge its value and start collaborating with astrologers. Aquarius is sextile and trine Aries and Libra (the partnership and consultation axis). Pluto in Aquarius will generally tend to act as an agent of transformation for all kinds of ‘marriages’, partnerships, contracts, treaties. Personal, national, or international.
Has the group dynamic or energy changed in your life? Aquarius is a sign of social aptness and aloof. Did you notice any changes in your creativity? Leo is opposite Aquarius. Did you notice any significant changes on the way you give and receive love, between you, your creativity, and your friends or groups of like minded individuals? Depending on which age group and generation we belong, this may take an altered meaning.
As the world’s timer switch marks the end of one calendar year and the beginning of a new one, we automatically enter a position of temporary pause, in anticipation, a crossing, a threshold that has to do with experience. Our personal and collective rituals and all that we habitually do at this point in time become perceptions, turn our vision inwards and into the future, depending on our vantage point. Collective moments of a ‘ritual’ and a kind of initiation process, coordinated with greater intensity with two extreme poles of experience (togetherness and distance). The experiences that unite us, that bring us closer, and those that divide and alienate us. Those we move away from, or leave behind, and those we are going to or wishing to encounter. So, this moment, regardless of the proximity and distance that distinguishes it, is an in-between space, surrounded by wishes, with several messages; some seem fake and superficial, some hold true meaning. Nevertheless, the end of the year feels like a good moment for personal decisions or resolutions to be made. We feel more strongly that the future is in front of us, and the question of how this may be viewed, predicted, controlled and defined becomes more pertinent.
Astrology does not necessarily align with this timer as it studies celestial bodies that are in constant motion, represent energy, the way it is expressed, and how this may correlate with terrestrial events and human behavior. Astrology is more closely aligned with the changes of the seasons, the Solstices and Equinox points. A marked change of temperament and the way life is organized and lived, is certainly more evident at the start of every season.
Therefore, the end of each calendar year holds as much of its own unique significance as any other date in time, in the same way that each birth or beginning captures something potentially unique. Through this perspective, nothing really ends, yet something new is born that carries potential and evolves over time. Every moment in time is telling a story about a potentiality. If we truly feel the significance of this, then every moment we potentially have the power to change something, it can be as small as our mood, and as big as a radical change in our mindset, relationships, vocation or lifestyle. What is required for this to feel meaningful, is being present, heart, mind, body and soul.
What does the future hold? Time travel… This New Moon cycle in Sagittarius seems to be prophetic, or trigger memories from the past. Something repeats. Do not postpone matters that are serious or urgent, they could get worse. However, do not move so fast with decisions due to pessimism, overwhelming emotions, prolonged delays, and obstacles or just because you need to do something without knowing what that is. Visions, strategies, and expectations around those (personal, financial, or other) are not yet clear, or need further refinement, but they can be interesting, inspiring, and take us into new directions. Expressing emotions and sharing is favored with those who are close and personal or those who we share memories with and common interests. They can be near or far.
When the Sun sets and the Moon rises, life becomes more ‘interesting’.
The last Super Moon of this Year is in the sign of Aries, just a few days after the Fall Equinox. A trigger for the upcoming Solar Eclipse in October 14th, and starts manifesting and accelarating changes we have set in motion since the Spring Solar Eclipse on April 20th. These changes will begin to stabilise and get into some form in the first couple of months of 2024. The spirit of creation and passion is seeking and activating new ground in the prime areas of our lives, mainly relationships, levels of sharing, contracts, and our need to reconcile situations, find remedial solutions or promote some creative plan, that will assist in unlocking a different way of living or connecting with the world. The me vs us factor comes into play. It is a Full Moon that seeks to balance a new way of responding to situations, relating to ourselves and others, and with a dynamic focus in the hearth, the ‘home’, our base, past, history or homeland. Everything we feel, that keeps our sacred fire alive in our soul. Settling differences, signing a contract, an agreement, relocating, moving in together, getting into a contest, having an argument, entering into partnership, seeking counseling, fighting for justice or presenting our work to others may seem like completely different things, but they do examine several levels of engagement and willingness to share, as well as responding to others. If we seek to tread on a new path with others, share more of ourselves with them, we need to make sure this comes from deep in our soul, and aligns with our inner truth. Our inner emotional stability and focus will determine the level of creativity and healthy expression in our exchange and interaction with others. Entering some ‘territory’ requires a kind of releasing, letting go of the past, giving our energy selflessly, or bringing closure to a previous chapter of life. Adjustments, formalities, or a kind of clearance and examining process of what we need to keep and what we need to discard. Becoming engaged with helping, being of service, and applying skills can be uplifting. We can do good for others, share more, while we also care for our own well being. Additional research or further inquiry maybe required, for plans to be completed, or major decisions to move forward. Complications as well as external pressure or competition, can hinder or delay matters, plans or goals. This may be necessary. Financial aspects as well as details and facts need attention. Matters may require more effort than we anticipate. This is a rather unsettling time for humanity, and we all need to invest our energy and use our power carefully, and mindfully with respect, love and sensitivity. Connecting with people we are spiritually aligned with, can work wonders for our creativity and confidence. Some latent creative talent, vision or creative opportunity may be waiting to be expressed or gradually emerge, although it might be something we do on the side, require patience or take longer to take off.
