July at a glance-Some notes on the rare alignments of this month.

July 2026 is not merely a month of several transits, but a moment where multiple historical conversations intersect._¹

Events occurring now may not originate in the present moment but may act as carriers of older stories, unfinished processes, dormant aspirations, collective traumas, dreams or unrealized possibilities that belong to earlier chapters of both personal and collective history. When we speak of collective history, we refer to the power of collective dreams.²

Mercury’s apparent retrograde motion in Cancer in July, is part of the process, and Jupiter is revealing or magnifying: Returning somewhere, back into the past, and walking again through the same paths and the same routes, many things will be revealed to us and will come into our awareness. Something urges us to reconnect with the source, both of the small and the great matters. Everything is interconnected. We may see old matters related to borders, treaties, national or international be re-activated. Deals and treaties being revisited, and personal familiar territory and history re-traced, while other seemingly unrelated events surface memories.

This month favours a kind of clarity, and re-connection, the nature of which, we may have not experienced before, like the moment when one half-awaken from a dream can have an absolute connection with reality and with our their, past or existence. And if the dream is not a successful metaphor, then it will be a moment of insight, a revelation of where true meaning, faith, trust, and essence are needed and found.

All of this will require effort and perseverance, but also a certain kind of inner, conscious calmness and protection from the “noise” that can distract, and is not ours, does not belong to us; it does not belong to our path, or it has only temporarily entered our lives. Great cycles meet this July, through harmonious aspects. The pressure of the last four years is decompressing and releasing energy with greater ease. Whether this is positive or negative cannot yet be determined; it will become clear both for each individual and for each collective, as every situation and position is different.

What is certain is that, in one way or another, significant revelations will surface. Most of the collective cycles, are in their waxing phase (except for Saturn-Uranus), this means things are being built and created gradually, and some have reached culmination (Jupiter-Pluto).

My advice on an individual level is to reconnect and assume responsibility for those people and those things, and creative projects, with which you truly have something meaningful to share and from which you can genuinely draw, spiritually, creatively, materially, and through common values and principles. Not merely because of shared frustrations or because circumstances force you to. It is also a period of reviewing and corrections.

From the end of July onwards, the direction changes, and what unfolds requires stabilisation and will have longer-term implications, acting in a much more decisive way for the years ahead. Attention is needed regarding compromises and concessions, and wherever possible, financial matters should be simplified.

If you know your birth chart, the Jupiter–Pluto opposition that forms on July 20th along the Leo/Aquarius axis (at 4°–5°) represents the backbone of the theme in your chart (in reference to the seed conjunction in Capricorn, which took place in 2020). It emerges from the natal positions of Jupiter and Pluto and highlights the fundamental structure that holds the entire chart in balance. This is where we need to focus our attention and strengthen ourselves, while also learning how to absorb pressures and negotiate our true and essential motivations, purpose: the clarity of our intentions for growth, correction, and spiritual or material evolution; the space we need for creativity and for continuation. This process will also unfold through relationships and agreements, on a global, local, and personal level. Something ,or someone, may need to be left behind, perhaps even certain fears. There will be a need for a kind of clearing, decluttering and release. We may face important dilemmas, ethical, financial or other, but something or someone may also show us a truly meaningful and beneficial path that provides a very important breakthrough and way forward. Options are being considered and presented.

Corrections and healing are necessary in our understanding of expansion, beliefs, philosophy, knowledge and notions of around wealth. These can be highly positive, but they may also involve complexity. Everything we have experienced and built collectively, socially, individually, and through the “stillness” of 2020, is now reaching a moment of evaluation, and a path forward. Are we lightening the load or going deeper? We need to see whether things can move forward in a healthy way or what requires radical change.The roots of these issues and of everything, may become clearer into 2027, revisted in the fall, and also extend much deeper into the past.

2. What most astrologers observe in July? A planetary pattern that is very rare. The pattern itself is not new to astrology: it is a classic cradle configuration, an opposition bridged by a chain of harmonious sextiles and trines, forming a basket-like shape on the chart wheel. What makes the July 2026 cradle exceptional is that it is formed entirely by the slow-moving planets, which signify social and collective themes, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto (collective planets), aligned around 4-5° of Leo, Gemini, Aries, and Aquarius. It has come to be called the “Barbault Basket” after André Barbault (1921–2019), the renowned French mundane astrologer whose “cyclic index” correlated the clustering and dispersal of the outer planets with cycles of collective crisis and recovery. Barbault anticipated a critical period around 2020–2021, where he predicted the pandemic, and pointed to 2026 as the opening of a more constructive era, which is why this particular cradle now carries his name as “Barbault’s basket”, though the term itself is a modern coinage he never used.).
