Venus retrograde, as it travels through Scorpio, will continue to bring things to light from the past and from the depths of our psyche, with a confessional disposition, intensity, a need to process how we share, create space for intimacy, but also review how we claim and use our fighting spirit. It is time to look beneath the surface and address patterns of dysfunction or needs, around values, finances, unions, creations, and self worth, that have been present for a lifetime. Something is calling to become more conscious about underlying issues, or perhaps to change course about how we deal with them. It is a period to eliminate or mend the value of things and our own value.

Liberating ourselves from toxic emotions, but also returning to feelings, issues, people and experiences from the past in order to clarify their deeper meaning, can be a profoundly meaningful process. Personal crises may bring us closer to some people, attract or repel others, while the quality of our interactions or need to share may fluctuate considerably. Nothing leaves us untouched, and emotions are intense and all-encompassing.

Will we come closer, or will we move further apart? Both scenarios are part of a process that is healing and cathartic, filled with passion or intensity, a need for adjustments and synchronicities, as well as encounters that have an impact.

This is a period of inner transformation concerning unions of all kinds, but also patterns or relationship contracts that either need to be renegotiated or have completed their cycle. It will be interesting to observe whom we meet during this period, or who “seeks us out” — especially from the past — and what we negotiate or share with them.

It is of value to observe how every circumstance creates a need to understand the deeper motives and truths about ourselves and others, and perhaps to observe why we experience things with greater intensity. Even completely coincidental encounters may help us develop a more meaningful relationship with ourselves or inner desires and motives.

The timing may be strange and unpredictable, but what matters is what we keep, what we correct and what we leave behind.

Venus will appear to travel backwards in the sign of Scorpio, a fixed Water sign, and Libra, a cardinal Air sign: this seems to invite us to give the “kiss of life”, or a new breath, to a deeper desire, a creation, a love affair, love itself, a relationship, a contract or collaboration that we have left unfinished, to end it or reconsider it completely.
